Fishing Calendar 2023-24

The fishing sub-committee have set up the calendar for the fishing season ahead. See below:
Saturday 7th October 2023 - FISHING DIRECT STILLWATER BOATING CLUB KIDS ROD FISHING COMPETITION (postponement date 14th Oct)
Fishing only to be done on the supplied fishing rod, reel and spooled line from our sponsor Fishing Direct Silverdale. The rods will need to be collected on Friday the 6th October, at the club between 4 and 8 pm, come down for a drink and share your plans!
Start time 5.00am - Weigh-in 4pm (entrants must be in line by this time) Entry now available - $50. Purchase at the club or online. The rules are available on our website. Please read them carefully.
Prizes for 1,2 & 3rd Snapper and Kahawai, 1st Trevally, John Dory and Gurnard. Average snapper, hard luck story and other spot prizes.

Saturday 18th November 2023 -THE STILLWATER BOATING CLUB KAWAU ONE BASE COMPETITION
Key points:
This is a Measure Competition
7am shotgun start at head of Bon Accord Harbour
A message will be sent at this time to registered skippers for an item to be in the photo. Photos to be presented to the weigh committee at 4pm at a TBC location at Kawau. BBQ to follow. For full details and rules see this link

Sunday 14th Jan 2024 - KIDS FISHING COMPETITION
A regular favourite held on the wharf.
High Tide 10.30am. Times for fishing 9:30 - 11:30am, followed by a snack, drink and prizegiving back in clubhouse.
For children 12 yrs and under, and they must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian during the fishing comp.
Numbers are limited due to fishing only being allowed on our jetty.
Categories include things from fish species, the length, the oddest catch, the biggest tangle, plus more. All kids will receive a certificate, gift, food and drink!
Tickets on sale $10 online or at the club.
Saturday 17th February 2024 - LADIES FISHING COMPETITION
TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE online and at the club. Early bird tickets available until 4th February. Tickets - $50.
Early bird is a loaded ICEYTEK Chilly Bin valued over $400. Entry includes a souvenir gift.

Saturday 23rd March 2024 - STILLWATER OPEN
Traditionally our biggest fishing competition.
Get in quick for your Early bird tickets and to be in for the prize valued at $500 - available until 16 March. Tickets - $55 early bird - after that $60. Purchase at the club or online.
Start time 5.00am - Weigh-in 4pm (entrants must be in line by this time)
Prizes include:1st, 2nd, 3rd Snapper & Kahawai, Heaviest Kingfish, Gurnard, Trevally & John Dory, Average Snapper, and more including Spot prizes & Giveaways.

Friday 19 - Sunday 21 April 2024 - The inaugural “STILLWATER RIVER RIPPER”
This comp will be held inside the red marker at the headland, and will be a measure comp.
We will encourage dinghies, land kayaks and will have a good swag of kids prizes up for grabs.
High tide Saturday 5.14pm
Fishing will commence 4pm Friday until 12pm Sunday.
Adult $30 and Junior (under 15 yrs) $15 categories. Purchase online here or at club.

1st Snapper Prize is a brand new Parsun 2.5hp outboard motor from Master Marine.
All other categories - Cash Prizes, plus some spot prizes too.
