Ahoy Anglers!

The 2026/2027 fishing season starts with the return of the "OCTOBERFEST" measure fishing competition.

This year with 1st prize sponsored by our friends at MR DAWS, your one stop shop for door and window maintenance and repairs. $500 cash for longest snapper!

This comp runs from 3.00pm, 2nd October to 11.59pm 31st October, with a special "magic round" held over Labour Weekend with the popular prize for average snapper over this period – AN ENTRY INTO ALL COMPS FOR THE SEASON!

Fish wherever you like, photograph your catch and see you at the prizegiving to claim a raft of cash prizes.

• 1st Snapper $500, thanks to MR DAWS!
• Average snapper over magic round wins entry to all the comps for the year!
• Entry and rules via the club or @ swbc.co.nz. You don’t have to be a member to enter.
• Open, Women’s and junior categories, entry $40 & $20 for juniors (under 15).
• Open categories include – Snapper, Kahawai, Gurnard, John Dory, Kingfish and Trevally.

We will hold a briefing on Thursday, 1st October at 6.30pm with spot prizes to give away.

Prize giving will be held on Sunday, 1st November 4.30pm at the club. You need to be at prize giving to be eligible.
