Bounty of the Sea Fishing Competition & Charity Auction
This year we are once again holding the Bounty of the Sea Fishing competition and Charity Auction. All fish weighed in are auctioned along with other prizes which have been donated by local businesses and companies around Auckland.
This event is our way as a club and community of supporting organisations who help those in need with research and education.
In 2017 the SWBC Bounty of the Sea Charity Auction raised approx $7,500.00 which was donated to the Hibiscus Coastguard and our own Waterwise club. This year we will be donating all funds raised to the following organisations:
Hibiscus Coastguard, The Cancer Research Trust NZ and Stillwater Waterwise.
As well as the auction we will also be having Shave for Research and even some local guys have offered to wax their chests - ouch! All funds raised by these guys will go to the Cancer Research Trust.
This year we are introducing the Christine Black Memorial Trophy which has been donated by Kelly Haliburton in remembrance of his partner Christine, who sadly passed away after a short battle with cancer.
Christine Black was a loved and well respected member of the Stillwater Boating Club Committee and community who played an integral part in the inception of both our local Waterwise Club and the Bounty of the Sea Charity Auction. Christine was always thinking of others and brought happiness to all she touched with her infectious smile and constant positivity which will be missed by all.
Christine loved living in Stillwater right next to the water - it was her little slice of paradise, she loved fishing with her partner Kelly, who is a driving force behind the Christine Black Memorial. Christine loved her family more than anything and left behind her legacy in daughters Carly and Grace and her grandson Victor who will be presenting the Trophy.
We would love you all to support and join us on this special weekend!
