The club has arranged an informative evening with the NZ Sport Fishing Council for this Thursday 12 November from 6pm as a lead in to The Stillwater Fishing Competition on Saturday.
NZ Sport Fishing Council was established in 1957 and currently represents 55 nationwide Clubs with 36,200 affiliate members. The Council’s mission is to promote and develop the sport and recreational activity of fishing in New Zealand.
Their activities include:
1. Promotion of fishing
2. Advocacy for recreational fishing interests
3 . Advocacy for the inshore marine environment
The CEO form the Council, Steven Stanford, will joining us on Thursday to explain what the council does, and is doing, via their “LegaSea” programme, to ensure there are bountiful fish stocks for future generations of New Zealanders.
