Bounty of the Sea Fundraiser

The BOUNTY OF THE SEA fishing competition spearheads this fundraising auction. All fish entered in for weigh-in will be auctioned off, along with all the other great items business and community have donated.

We are very proud to have this opportunity to give back to our community by organising this event, and thank you all for wanting to be included and donating the items and fish to be weighed in on the day, to assist in raising funds for two great causes.

In this years inaugural event, the charities we are fundraising for focus on water and safety.

Stillwater Waterwise - in February 2017, Waterwise NZ, a volunteer organisation teaching children water safety and other skills like sailing, canoeing, and paddle boarding, was introduced to SWBC as a venue to teach children these skills - it was a great success!

However, most of the equipment being used is on loan, and we need to purchase our own. This auction hopes to assist this situation for SWBC.

Coastguard Hibiscus - the other great cause, and again run by volunteers, giving up their own time to be there when the unexpected happens out on the water.

All proceeds raised on the day will be split 50/50 between Waterwise and Coastguard Hibiscus.

Graeme Sinclair and Derek the Chef from TV Gone Fishin' have been great in their support of us, and will be a big part of the day, along with displays from both Coastguard and Waterwise boats.

Auction

The auction is not limited to contestants, everyone is welcome and it will be a great family day out. Food and beverages will be available at the venue along with other stalls and attractions, all there to help us raise funds for our charities and support the event.

Fundraiser Sponsors

A very big ‘thank you’ to all our sponsors and businesses that have kindly donated funds and goods to be auctioned. Without them the competition and charity auction would not be possible, so please support them.

The proceedings of the day:

Live Auction - to commence at 2.30pm Sunday 15th Oct. All fish will be auctioned here.

Silent Auction - a selection of donated goods will be displayed on tables from event start time 1200 midday, and prior to live auction. Each item will have a bid sheet, where you can write your bid down consecutively after each bid. The last recorded bidder at nominated close off time wins the item. You can bid as many times as you want. Eftpos is available at the club for purchases.

What an amazing day we had!

With a combined total from the fishing competition and auction proceeds, we raise a total of $7,000, and donated $3,500 to both Waterwise Stillwater and Coastguard Hibiscus. Stillwater Waterwise purchased new equipment  -  mainly the four new paddleboards. Click to see facebook photos
